It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved brother, husband, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Bob. He is survived by his sister, Helen Florence Adams. Bob is predeceased by his wife, Donalene Woods (n'ee McDermid), his father, Dean Esli Longworth Woods, his mother Ruby Woods (n'ee Cannon), and his sister Doris O'Dell ( n'ee Woods). He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Saskatchewan on May 16, 1930, where he attended the King Edward Elementary School in Moose Jaw. His family headed west to Vancouver in 1944 where Bob attended Lord Byng High School
In 1948 Bob attended the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Agriculture. In September 1956, he began his career with MacMillan Bloedel Limited and worked his way up to senior manager of the south Vancouver plant. He worked at MacMillan Bloedel for 32 years and achieved many accolades over the course of his career
Bob was very devoted to his beloved wife of 40 years, Donna, (Donalene) who passed in 2007.
In July of 1975, Bob continuing his passion for the woods, an purchased a lake front property at Silver Lake in Washington State. Here, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and took pride in beautifying the property.
Bob was very active with his church group at the West Point Grey Baptist Church and then, more recently, at the Ladner Baptist Church.
Bob will be remembered for his kindness, his keen sense of humour, and his ability to make everyone around him feel so special. He lit up the room with a smile.
