1961 - 2018
After a 20-month ordeal with cancer, our Sweet Pauline passed away at home on August 8, 2018, in the arms of her loving husband, Jeff. Left to mourn this profound loss with Jeff are their children Erin and Marcus, Pauline's mother Sheila Fedder and brothers David and Jon (Mark). Also bereaved are Jeff's siblings Jim, Jack, Marlene (Edmond), Johnny, Margaret (Nitin) and Melanie (William); Pauline's nieces and nephews Bobby, Gracie, Michael (Tara), Timea, Nicole (Mitchell), Elias, Matthias and Brandon; and grandniece and grandnephews Emerson, Nico and Jonah. She was predeceased by her father Samuel Fedder, and her in-laws Joe and Mai Quon.
In life, Pauline was a person of virtue. She was extraordinarily even-tempered, honest, and humble. She was charming, and had an unforgettable sense of humor, which was consummate even during her illness when she continued to radiate light and laughter from her bed. Her acerbic wit belied her unfailing kindness, which was truly limitless and uncontrived. She was adored by so many people, but especially by her family. She was a superhero to Jeff, Erin and Marcus whom she taught to dream, play, travel, and most importantly, love. She often described her life in Vancouver as "perfect," and by perfect example she taught us to be the finest version of ourselves, to live decisively, and love life to its fullest.
Following a private family service at home, Pauline was laid to rest on August 10, 2018 in an idyllic setting at Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver. A celebration of her beautiful life will be announced at a future date.
Our heartfelt thanks to our many supportive friends and care providers at Vancouver General Hospital, the BC Cancer Agency, Vancouver Community Home Hospice Palliative Care Service, and Or Shalom Synagogue. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline's honour can be made to Right to Play, Canada, and the BC Cancer Foundation.
