Patricia Tate Obituary

It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Pat on October 25, 2020.  She will be greatly missed by Bob, her husband of 53 years, as well as her son James (Janet) and daughter Katherine (Peter).  Also, her 5 grandchildren who were the delight of her life: Daniel, Marcus, Alex, Lauren, and Jessica. Her brother Ted (Joan) was also very important to her.

Pat was born in Edmonton and grew up in Saskatoon. She then lived for a decade in  Montreal followed by a further ten years in Toronto before settling in Tsawwassen in 1977.

Pat had three distinct and successful careers over the years. In the early 60s, she was one of the first students to graduate from the newly established B.Sc. (Nursing) program at McGill University and she worked as a nurse for the next 15 years. Following the move to the west coast, Pat and Bob formed and operated a golf distribution business for the next 20 years. She then embarked on a 20 year real estate career, from which she retired in 2015. She was also involved with online marketing, owning and managing three websites.

Pat loved golf. She loved to play it, practice it, study it, and follow the careers of the best players. She was a 25 year member of Beach Grove Golf Club. She was the long time treasurer of the Delta branch of the Canadian Federation of University Women. She was always active in the community she loved.

Because of the current conditions, there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the bursary funds of the Delta Branch of the Canadian Federation of University Women which Pat administered. Please contact CFUW Director Cheryl McTait for information on how to donate: cmctait43@gmail.com
