Marjorie Williams Obituary

February 10, 1927 - January 6, 2018

Marge Williams, affectionately known as Bun, died peacefully January 6, 2018 after a short illness. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Earle, daughters Arden and Leslie, son-in-law Rob, grandchildren Chris and Anna, Chris' fiancée Avery Raess, sister Sylvia Walker, sister-in-law Shirley Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews across Canada. Marge was born February 10, 1927 in Rosemount, Montreal, the third daughter of Charles and Caroline Sundstrom, originally from Aberdeen, Scotland.

From a young age Marge loved participating in sports, especially tennis, golf, skiing and synchronized swimming. She met Earle on a tennis court in 1948 and never looked back; they married in 1950 and had 67 wonderful years together. They could often be seen in Dunbar, walking hand in hand. Their love of travel took them on many adventures, by boat to the UK, backpacking in Europe, and car trips down to California. But by far their favourite was the annual vacation in Naramata with their children and grandchildren. Fiercely proud of her Scottish heritage, she was thrilled to return to Scotland in 2013. She was an excellent seamstress, knitter, and painter, leaving us with many beautiful heirlooms. She enjoyed a rewarding career at TRIUMF, UBC from the early 1970s until her retirement in 1992. Marge's greatest love was her family and she was so proud of all, especially her grandchildren. We will miss Bun's sense of humour, her birthday cakes, her special treats for our pets, her poorly focused family photos, and mostly, her hugs and bosies. A sincere thank you to Dr. Ivo David for his many years of compassionate care and to the staff on unit 6A, VGH for their kindness and understanding.

A private family celebration will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA in Marge's memory are appreciated.
