Marilynn Bentzen Obituary

September 13, 1947 – February 27, 2018

It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Marilynn Barbara Bentzen (née Hillier). Lynn leaves behind her son Chris and wife Erin, her daughter Lisa and husband Mike, and her three granddaughters, Makena, Aylee and Grace. She also leaves behind her sisters, Valerie, Wendy, and Annette, and her partner, John. Lynn was predeceased by her husband, Steen, and her siblings Carol, Buddy, Glynn and Maureen, and Jack.

Born in Vancouver, Lynn grew up in Point Grey and graduated from Lord Byng. She married her high school sweetheart and later moved to the suburbs to start a family. A bright light of the community, Lynn spent over 40 years taking in the sunshine and ocean breeze of Steveston. She was a proud parent and extremely proud to be a grandma. She lived and breathed for her “little beauties.” A life taken too soon, she will be missed dearly.

Please join the family to celebrate Lynn’s life on Sunday March 11 at 10am in the Joyce Walley Room at the Museum of Vancouver, 110 Chestnut Street (note that daylight savings occurs this day).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to BC Children’s Hospital Neurology Department.
