John Edward Eberle

EBERLE, JOHN EDWARD

The Honourable John Edward Eberle, Q. C., retired Judge of the Supreme Court of Ontario, born June 10, 1928, died February 24, 2018 in Vancouver with family by his side. Son of Grace Cecilia Keenan Eberle and Charles Addison Eberle; he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Jean Doran; and their two sons, David Andrew Power and Charles Edward (Ted). He will be missed by his daughters, Margaret Eberle (George Casoli) and Mary Eberle Deacon (Bill Giffin); and his grandchildren, Jordan, Cecilia and Madeleine; as well as his sister, Cecilia (Leal) Quarrington. Edward was born in Owen Sound, Ontario, and was educated at the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall. He had a successful career as a lawyer and Justice of the Supreme Court of Ontario, and was an avid skier and accomplished tennis player. He enjoyed many happy times at the family farm in Feversham, Ontario as well as travelling with friends and family.

A private family celebration of his life will take place in Lindsay, Ontario at a later date where he will be laid to rest with his wife and sons.
