Jhammi-Leigh Rose Gunnarsen was born January 1st, 1997, at 4:36am in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, to Corey Michael Gunnarsen and Recko-Marie Isabelle Miller. Weighing seven pounds, five ounces she arrived as the very first baby of the new year—a fitting beginning for someone who would bring so much energy, positivity, and light into the lives of those around her.

Jhammi graduated from Maple Ridge Secondary School and went on to build a life defined by hard work, passion, and an unwavering dedication to others. She worked as an Event Coordinator with Reveal Events Group, a career that perfectly reflected her energetic and hardworking nature. Her talent and dedication were recognized with the Up-and-Coming Event Coordinator Award in 2025 and the Emerging Leader Award in 2026.

Jhammi’s love for events began long before her professional career. For 11 years, she devoted countless hours to volunteering with the Ridge Meadows Home Show, beginning as a student volunteer and working her way up to Event Coordinator. She also spent two years volunteering with the Agrifair as an Event Coordinator. She poured her heart into everything she did, always giving more of herself and finding ways to make things better for the people around her.

Family was at the center of Jhammi’s world. She adored her nephews, Alijha and Jackson, and devoted herself to being there for them. She was a loving sister to her brother, Corson Gunnarsen, and someone her family could always count on.

Jhammi’s friendships were just as meaningful. Riley Ball-Hauck and Harrison Ball-Hauck were her best friends, and the three were always attached at the hip. Where one went, the other two followed. Their friendship was filled with countless memories, laughter, adventures, and a bond that went far beyond friendship—it was family.

Jhammi had a youthful spirit and a love for all things fun. She could happily escape into the worlds of Harry Potter, Disney, Marvel, and DC Comics, and she had a love for country music. She found joy in the things that made her smile and never lost the enthusiasm that made her so uniquely Jhammi.

Above all, Jhammi was someone who put others first. She had an instinct to make sure everyone around her was okay, often putting their needs before her own. She was bubbly, generous, and fiercely hardworking. She gave her time freely, supported the people she loved wholeheartedly, and left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Jhammi passed away on August 20th, 2026, at the age of 29. Though her life was far too short, the love she gave, the lives she touched, the work she poured herself into, and the memories she created will continue to live on. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
