Helen Smith

Greatly missed, Helen Smith (nee Service) passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the age of 90 years.

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Harry John Gilbert Smith, daughter, Heather Ann Smith, and sister, Jane Meredith, Helen is survived by her sons Robert Craig Smith (Linda) and Alan Gilbert Smith (Vickie), her grandchildren Melissa, Eric, Mark, Danielle, Madi, and Forster, sisters Anne Murray, Sarah Mason, and Wilma Van Gilder and many brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Born October 3, 1924 to parents William and Sarah Service, Royal Inland Hospital nursing graduate, public health nurse, and Canadian Cancer Society volunteer, Helen’s loving and positive spirit encouraged all who met her.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Knox United Church, 5600 Balaclava St, Vancouver. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
