KILLAS-Helen (née Pappas), passed away peacefully at the age of 82 surrounded by love, family and music. Predeceased by her husband Kosta and son Kostie, she is survived by her daughters Penny and Daphne and her granddaughter, Eden.
Our beautiful Helen was truly the heart and soul of our family life, instilling within us an appreciation of all things bright and beautiful, the simple wonders of nature and compassion for those less fortunate than ourselves.
In her latter years she continued to teach us of love, optimism and the power of living in the present, and how music, laughter or a stroll on the beach can soothe the soul. We will never forget Helen’s inspiring strength of spirit nor her dazzling smile. Rest in peace, sweet soul.
Many thanks to Dr. Peter Grantham, Maureen Macintosh and each member of our ‘family’ at Point Grey Hospital for their compassionate care and support. A special thank you to Sisinia Nagy, Helen’s friend and companion of twenty years, who loved and cared for our Mother as if she was her own.
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
