Gwynneth Yvonne Foulds

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we mourn the passing of Gwynneth Yvonne Foulds, of Vancouver, British Columbia, on January 17, 2024, at the age of 98 years.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Nellie, Grace, Jack, Harold, and Ronald, and parents John Thomas Foulds and Ellen Foulds (nee Staley).

Gwynne was born June 25, 1925, in a two-bedroom sod house on a homestead in Vanguard, Saskatchewan, the family then moved to Kelowna in the early 30’s where she received her schooling and then graduated from Sprott Business School. She started work at BC Tree Fruits, and then life led her to travel to many other countries where she held down jobs in Australia and England. After returning to Vancouver, sheworked for The Foundation Company of Canada (now Aecon), and finally the Port of Vancouver, where she retired as the private secretary to the Port Manager.

She will be dearly missed by all she touched.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church at 1:00pm on March 1, 2024, at 1022 Nelson Street, Vancouver, BC.

A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30pm at Mountain View Cemetery at 5455 Fraser Street in Vancouver, followed by a reception 3:00pm-5:00pm in the Celebration Hall at Mountain View Cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be made in Gwynneth’s name to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, #178 – 108 Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC, V6Z 1Y6.
