Obituary
George Lanaras was born in Naoussa, Greece, and learned his mechanical trade in the Greek army. George moved to Australia where he worked as a heavy duty mechanic at Jindabyne, Snowy Mountains, N.S.W. He immigrated to Canada, becoming a Canadian citizen. He was a proud member of IUOE for 50 years, working on machines at sites such as Mica Dam in Revelstoke, and various logging camps. He enjoyed going out for coffee with his friends.
George is survived by his daughter Heather, ex-wife Lynn, cousin Niovi, nieces Maria + Georgia (Greece), and nephew John + niece Maria (Australia). We wish to thank the people at Fraser Health Burnaby for all their help during the last stages of his life.
