Ellen Esther McDonald

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellen McDonald on August 22, 2024.

She was predeceased by her husband John. She is survived by her daughter Dianne (Dan), her son Bruce (Janice), her grandchildren Greg (Melissa), Steve (Trina), Jamie (Jeff), Rebecca, Sarah (Jordan) and her 9 great grandchildren.

Ellen was born on July 29, 1930 in Wadena, Saskatchewan. After her mother's passing when Ellen was 12, the family moved to Langley, BC. It was there she met and married John McDonald. They settled in Surrey where they raised their 2 children. Ellen was always busy helping in her church and with all the activities her children were involved in. In the late 1980's, Ellen and John moved to Hope and quickly became involved in the community. Ellen was an active member of Women's Aglow, her church and the Free Store. Ellen had a heart for people and would always have time to chat over a cup of tea.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fraser Hope Lodge for their loving care of Ellen during her final days.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Northwest Harvest Church, 888 Third Ave, Hope, BC.
