Dr. Martin Gary Silverman

September 23, 1939 – June 29, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Martin Gary Silverman, age 78, on June 29, 2018. Predeceased by his wife and soulmate, Madeline, he leaves his loving children Daniel, Anna, and Marc. Martin was a consummate academic, sharing his love of human culture at Harvard, Princeton, Chicago, ANU, Western, and finally UBC. Martin continued to plan journal articles and order rare books on linguistics in his final years.
