RENTZ, David Richard
September 14, 1970 – June 9, 2015
On Tuesday, June 9, 2015, a generous man of huge intellect, comedic wit, and a fun-loving spirit passed away, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts. Family was first to David. David will be lovingly remembered and always cherished by his wife Fatima Charania, children, Adam, Asher and Kaliana, mother Charlotte, brother Paul (Kelly), niece and nephew Lauren and Benjamin, his father and mother-in-law Pili and Rashida Charania, sister-in-law Nazira Charania, aunts, uncles, extended family and an expansive sea of friends. David was predeceased by his father, David Rentz Sr. in 2009.
David was born in Winnipeg in 1970, the first born son of David and Charlotte Rentz. Clever and likeable, David found his niche after graduating from UBC with a Bachelor of Commerce. A savvy risk-taker, David brought much success to his work with perseverance and determination; as attested by those who received his eight phone calls in 30 seconds.
While David’s professional accolades were numerous and his family was immensely proud of his successes, he will be missed most for the impact he had on people on a personal level. He made the ordinary anything but. David strived and succeeded to make the everyday fun for his family. Funny and over the top, seeing David in some sort of costume, singing and chanting, with the neighborhood children trailing behind was a regular scene. With gratitude, his family will cherish the multitude of memories of all the special times that David orchestrated.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 19th, 2015 at St. Mary’s Kerrisdale Anglican Church of Canada, 2490 West 37th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6M 1P5.
Husband, father, son, brother, and leader, David left a huge mark on so many lives and his loss will be deeply felt.
