Beverly Joan McKenzie

Beverly Joan McKenzie (“Bev”) passed away on June 28, 2021 at the age of 70 at Burnaby, British Columbia after an accidental fall.

Bev battled medical issues all her life.  She showed courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile.  Bev inspired others because despite all her challenges, she was able to find so much joy in life. 

Bev was kind and thoughtful.  She would often bring cards and gifts to any person who she knew celebrating a wedding, birthday or birth.  She loved babies and she used to handmake beautiful baby blankets for newborns.  Bev enjoyed celebrating holidays and relished getting dressed up for special events.  Since her childhood, Bev was a talented performer as a majorette and dancer and she delighted in continuing her baton performances for others throughout her life.  Bev was an award-winning member of Toastmasters Burnaby and faithfully attended the Eternity Club as well as the Royal Oak Ministry Centre, Living Hope Fellowship, and All Saints Church.

Many people will never forget Bev because of her thoughtfulness and ability to make people smile.

Bev was happy in her life because she lived her life in accordance with her spiritual and personal values. 

Bev’s beloved parents Betty and Stewart McKenzie predeceased her.  Bev was survived by many friends and cousins who loved her.

Rev. Audrey Mabley will be hosting Bev’s outdoor funeral service at the Pacific Heritage Cemetery, 4305 Halifax Street, Burnaby, British Columbia, V5C 3X4, on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.  Please feel free to bring your own lawn chair to this outdoor service.
