It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ayoub Kanaan on November 07, 2020 at the age of 89, he will be greatly missed by his wife Elham Astafan of 57 years as well as his children : Hyam, Elias, Siad, Hisham, Fareez and Razan, as well as his eight grandchildren who were the delight of his life : Greogory, Daniel, Ani, Kilian, Ara, Jordani, Andrew and Laura. He passed away while he was surrounded by his wife, children and his grandchildren.
Ayoub was born in the town of Tanoureen, Syria in 1931. He moved to Damascus in 1953, he worked in the military as an accountant for 24 years before moving to do accounting for the Housing Department until his retirement in 1996. He immigrated to Canada in 1997, where he saw his daughters getting married and saw his grandchildren growing up in Canada, the United States and Germany. He attended so many birthdays, graduation parties and attended with joy so many activities at soccer, baseball, football, fishing, dance and band recitals . He was proud of all of them.
He was loved by every person that touched his life. He inspired his children and grandchildren with his hard work, patience, kindness, love and his inner peace.
