It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mum, Nana, wife, and friend, Anne Laura Roberts, on June 3, 2026.

Anne is survived by her daughters, Emma and Sarah {and "son-in-law" Robert}; her cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Gabriella, Sam, and Lucia; and the Owen family in England. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard, in March of this year.

Anne was born on March 28, 1943, in Cheam, England, to Ernest and Laura Seaford. An only child, Anne was dearly loved and doted upon by her parents and shared an especially close bond with her beloved father.

In 1966, much to the surprise of her parents, Anne embarked on an adventure and moved to Bermuda, where she worked at the Coral Beach Hotel. It was there that she met Peter, the father of her daughters. Anne and Peter married in early 1967 and decided to make Vancouver their home. They emigrated to Canada in May 1967.

Anne devoted the following years to raising Emma and Sarah, embracing her role as a stay-at-home mother with love, patience, and care. She created a warm and welcoming home on West 35th Avenue and took immense pride in her daughters and, later, her grandchildren.

In 1986, Anne met Richard Roberts, who had been posted to Vancouver for Expo 86. Together they built a life filled with love, companionship, travel, golf, family gatherings, and treasured friendships. Over the next four decades, Anne and Richard shared countless adventures and created many cherished memories with family and friends.

In later years, she and Richard moved to Shaughnessy Place, where they enjoyed a wonderful community of friends and many happy times together. After Richard's passing, Anne moved to Crofton Manor in April 2026. Although only there for a short time, she formed wonderful new friendships and reunited with old friends. We all greatly appreciated the kindness and support of the residents and staff who welcomed her so warmly.

Anne was devoted to the people she loved and poured care and attention into everything she did, whether planning a dinner party, selecting the perfect Christmas gift, or making those around her feel special. One of her grandchildren's most treasured Christmas traditions was receiving a special ornament from Nana each year, thoughtfully chosen just for them and lovingly added to their collection.

Those who knew Anne will remember her beautiful smile, her dry British wit, her elegance, her generosity, and the genuine interest she took in the lives of others. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcomed, cared for, and valued.

Anne's absence leaves an immeasurable void in our lives. We will miss her with our whole hearts—her laughter, her wisdom, her warmth, and the countless small acts of love that made her so incredibly special. Her memory will live on in the family she cherished and in the many lives she touched.

A Celebration of Anne's Life will be held at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada in Anne's memory, a cause especially close to our family's heart since Emma's diagnosis with multiple sclerosis in 2024.
