May 13, 1930 – March 5, 2019
Mom was born in Saskatoon to Tom and Irma Gowan. She passed away in Burnaby BC – 46 days after her husband. As a young girl her family followed the work from Wynyard Sask. to Dawson Creek to Whitehorse during the war. In Prince Rupert she met her husband Dave McDougall. She went from comptometer operator to mother and house boss, which she did an excellent job of. She raised three children and trained five dogs. She loved to ski, travel, shop and play cards. She was good at all. Her family always came first except at the crib board. Peggy was an avid bridge player and a member of the Daughters of the Nile.
Peggy is survived by her children Tom (Patsy) grandsons Cole and Jake; Kara (Rick) Rendall grandsons Donovan and Drew and Shelly (David) Keilbart and grandson Philip. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Dave McDougall, both her parents and her only sister Lynn (Bob) Currie.
Special thanks go out to Dr. Grewal for her great care and compassion and the staff at New Vista Care Home.
Memorial Services will be Monday, March 18th at 11:30 at the Burnaby Rowing Pavilion – 6871 Roberts Street, Burnaby BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC, Suite 300, 828 W. 8th Ave. Vancouver BC V5Z 1E2.
